Pour célébrer leur 40ème anniversaire, les Rolling Stones se lancèrent en 2002 et 2003 dans une grande tournée mondiale intitulée ‘Licks World Tour’, se produisant dans des arènes et stades gigantesques. Mais ils donnèrent aussi une poignée de concerts intimes, comme ce lundi 4 novembre 2002 à Los Angeles au Wiltern Theatre, un chef d’œuvre Art Deco des années 30.
Dans l’intimité de cette petite salle bondée, ils offrent alors aux fans leurs grands classiques mais aussi de nombreuses raretés, notamment « Stray Cat Blues », « No Expectations » ou une reprise enflammée de « Everybody Needs Somebody To Love » avec le légendaire Solomon Burke qui avait assuré la première partie ce soir-là.
