Au commencement, il y avait « White Christmas » et les albums de Noël de Bing Crosby. Tout le reste est venu après et peut difficilement rivaliser avec ce succès. La chanson phare de Bing Crosby, « White Christmas », reste le single le plus vendu de tous les temps, avec 50 millions d'exemplaires écoulés. Composée par Irving Berlin, la chanson apparaît pour la première fois dans le film « Holiday Inn » de Crosby. Elle remporte l'Oscar de la meilleure chanson originale lors de la 15e cérémonie des Oscars.
