Dans la lignée des coffrets « LIVE FROM LUGANO » autour de Martha Argerich, édités tous les ans par Warner Classics, voici aujourd'hui pour la première fois l'édition officielle du prestigieux FESTIVAL DE VERBIER 2014 en 2CD à prix moyen, édité par Erato. Depuis 1994, ce Festival dans les hauteurs des Alpes suisses attire les musiciens les plus illustres du monde entier et est devenu ainsi un incontournable, au même titre que Salzbourg ou Aix en Provence.

L'orchestre de jeunes musiciens Verbier Festival Orchestra est dirigé par Charles Dutoit dans un concerto n°1 de Tchaikovky électrisant avec Martha Argerich, Marc Minkowski dirige des extraits du Fidelio de Beethoven et Daniel Harding ceux du Don Carlo de Verdi. Les pianistes Evgeny Kissin, Daniil Trifonov et Jan Lisiecki mettent leur génie au service de Scriabine, Tchaïkovski et Grieg. Bref, l'émotion du LIVE, les plus grands artistes d'aujourd'hui pour le premier témoignage inoubliable d'un Festival de légende.

Les extraits des concerts de l'édition 2014 sont interprétés par des artistes de légende, enregistrant habituellement sous des labels différents : Martha Argerich, Evgeny Kissin, Daniil Trifonov et Jan Lisiecki, Mischa Maisky, Gautier Capuçon !....
