Ce 6ème album studio de The Sword fait suite à 'High Country' (2015) dont les excellentes critiques soulignaient déjà la grande qualité des compositions plus 'classic rock' signées par le guitariste/chanteur John D. Cronise.
Au fil de ses 15 années d'existence le groupe texan a magnifiquement su faire évoluer sa musique vers d'autres horizons. Son dernier effort studio en date approchant même le demi-million d'exemplaires vendus. Dans une ambiance étrangement "progressive" le groupe alterne les compos coup de poing - comme l'irrésistible instrumental 'The Wild Sky', 'Sea of Green' et son final obsédant ou encore plus heavy 'Book of Thoth'- et les ambiances limites psychés à l'image de l'aventureux 'Nocturne' ou du planant 'Come and Gone'.
