Résumé
Après nous avoir fait découvrir les opéras oubliés Motezuma de VIVALDI, Floridante et Rodelinda de HAENDEL, ALAN CURTIS et son ensemble Il Complesso Barocco font revivre un joyaux de HAENDEL, Tolomeo. ALAN CURTIS est un véritable pionnier du revival de l'opéra baroque ! Il aime exhumer des partitions oubliées, et faire découvrir au public les trésors oubliés. Ecrit en 1728, Tolomeo est le dernier opéra créé par HAENDEL pour l'Académie Royale de Londres ; à l'époque le rôle titre était chanté par l'un des plus célèbres castrats de l'époque, le fameux Senesino. Pour cet enregistrement Curtis a réuni la fine fleur des chanteurs baroques d'aujourd'hui, spécialistes de HAENDEL. On admirera notamment la performance de ANN HALLENBERG dans le rôle titre. A une époque où les intégrales d'opéra se font de plus en plus rare, nous ne pouvons que saluer cette parution. De plus, il n'existe que très peu d'enregistrements de cette oeuvre. ALAN CURTIS dirigera Tolomeo au Théâtre des Champs-Elysées le 4 avril, et la presse se fera largement l'écho de la parution de notre intégrale.
