Deutsche Grammophon réédite l'édition symphonique dédiée à Claudio Abbado parue en 2014, un coffret de 41CD en édition limitée regroupant les enregistrements célèbres du Maestro, de Mozart à Mahler, que lui-même avait choisis pour ce coffret.
Il réunit les intégrales des symphonies de Beethoven (avec les Berliner Philharmoniker), Schubert, Mendelssohn, Brahms et Mahler (avec les Berliner Phliharmoniker et le Lucerne Festival Orchestra) ; puis tous ses enregistrements des symphonies de Mozart (avec l'Orchestra Mozart), Haydn et Bruckner. Mention spéciale pour un enregistrement live inédit de la première Symphonie de Bruckner, dans la version dite « de Vienne » (retouchée par le compositeur en 1890-91), avec le Lucerne Festival Orchestra, pris en licence à la demande du chef... une perle pour tous ceux qui connaissent l'exécution de l'oeuvre par Abbado en concert.
Les 41 CD sont présentés dans un élégant cube avec couvercle, accompagnés d'un livret de 96 pages.
