2006 sera à Obie Trice ce que 2003 a été pour 50 Cent : L'année du cross over et du carton mondial !Après 50 Cent, Obie Trice devient en 2003, la 2ème signature officielle d'EMINEM sur son label SHADY RECORDS. Ce natif de Detroit sort son premier album «Cheers» la même année (900 000 exemplaires aux US, 200 000 en Angleterre, 60 000 en Allemagne et 25 000 en France). Sur son second opus « The Second Round's on Me », on retrouve évidemment Eminem mais aussi Akon, 50 Cent, Nate Dogg. La production exécutive assurée par EMINEM. Le 1er single « Snitch » avec et produit par Akon, est un titre hip hop au refrain pop qui devrait connaître un succès proche de son camarade et « collègue » 50 Cent.
