'The Madness' est le seul album studio d'une version éphémère du groupe Madness avec 4 des membres originaux (Suggs, Lee Thompson, Chris Foreman et Cathal Smyth), et initialement sorti en 1988. L'album a marqué un changement sonore par rapport aux albums précédents de Madness et a montré une direction expérimentale. Aux 4 membres du groupe se sont joints le bassiste Earl Falconer de UB40, les claviers Jerry Dammers et Steve Nieve (Elvis Costello And The Attractions) et le batteur Simon Phillips.Cette toute nouvelle réédition comporte des notes exclusives contenant des entretiens approfondis avec les membres du groupe, Lee 'Kix' Thompson, Cathal 'Chas Smash' Smyth et Chrissyboy Foreman, sur leurs souvenirs de la réalisation du disque. édition LP 180 gr., avec nouvelles notes de pochette par Cathal Smyth, Lee Thompson & Chris Foreman
