Madman Across the Water est le quatrième album d'Elton John. Sorti en 1971, celui-ci connait un succès limité à l'exception des Etats-Unis. Afin de célébrer le 50ème anniversaire de sa sortie, l'opus est réédité en 3 fomats : 2CD Digipack, 3CD+Blu-Ray Digipack et un coffret 4xLP.
En 2000 l'album est redécouvert grâce à la chanson 'Tiny Dancer' qui figure dans le film Almost Famous de Cameron Crowe, et c'est aujourd'hui l'un des titres les plus streamé de l'artiste.
A 4-LP box set anniversary edition of Madman Across The Water. Includes the original album remastered by Bob Ludwig in 2016, previously unreleased demos, live and alternative versions, plus the BBC television broadcast recording "Sounds for Saturday" taped 11 November 1971, aired 29 April 1972.
Original album presented in gatefold sleeve with replica 12-page lyric booklet affixed inside.
Disc labels recreate the original DJM logo.
Includes a 40-page booklet with introductions by Elton John and Bernie Taupin, an essay by Daryl Easlea, and photos and notes relating to the project.
Includes a 24x36 inch folded poster replica of the original DJM in-store poster.
