Sun records est un label musical fondé par Sam Phillips à Memphis dans le Tennessee en
1950. Il est spécialisé au début dans l'enregistrement amateur pour les particuliers (mariages,
cérémonies, ...), puis se tourne vers les musiciens.Il sera à l'origine d'un grand nombre de tubes
et d'artistes reconnus dans un genre qu'il contribue à créer : le Rock'n'Roll.
Elvis Presley, alors inconnu, y enregistre That's All Right Mama, qui deviendra son premier tube.
Puis d'autres artistes, aujourd'hui célèbres, lui devront de leur avoir donné leur première chance,
tels Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash...
