Pour son premier enregistrement pour le label Decca, Leonidas Kavakos a choisi d'enregistrer l'intégralité des Sonates pour Violon et Piano de Ludwig Van Beethoven, avec le pianiste italien Enrico Pace.
Cette collaboration entre les deux musiciens sur ces pièces a déjà fait des étincelles en concert.
Ces dix Sonates pour Violon et Piano marquent non seulement une étape importante de l'histoire de la musique de chambre, mais aussi l'évolution du langage musical de Beethoven, du style audacieux et plein d'humour des premières sonates au lyrisme de la Sonate n°5 "le Printemps" et à l'agitation de la Sonate n°9 "A Kreutzer".
