Résumé
En 1969, Tjader avec le guitariste Gabor Szabó et Gary McFarland, joueront un rôle clé pour fonder l'éphémère label Skye Records. Le travail de Tjader de cette époque est caractérisé par une note groovie, basé sur un son funk. Les albums Solar Heat (1968) and Tjader Plugs In (1968-69) sont précurseurs de l'acid jazz. Ils se produisent au Harlem Cultural Festival durant l'été 1969.
