Résumé
La soprano allemande Anna Prohaska rejoint Alpha Classics pour plusieurs projets d'enregistrements. Ce premier récital réunit deux magnifiques reines d'Afrique - Didon & Cléopâtre - et les suit dans toute l'Europe pendant le premier siècle de l'opéra, des années 1640 à 1740. Un feu d'artifice d'airs tour à tour virtuoses et tragiques, composés par les plus grandes personnalités baroques (Cavalli, Haendel, Purcell, Hasse) et des compositeurs à découvrir comme Sartorio, Graupner ou le Vénitien Castrovillari. Pour ce programme construit comme une tragédie autour des Reines d'Egypte et de Carthage qu'Anna Prohaska incarne avec la passion et la ferveur qui ont fait sa réputation, elle est accompagnée par la fine fleur des ensembles baroques, Il Giardino Armonico ; sous l'impulsion de son chef Giovanni Antonini, ils nous tiennent en haleine d'un bout à l'autre du voyage.
