La seconde parution sur ECM du brillant pianiste/compositeur/improvisateur italien Stefano Battaglia est un vaste projet, objet d'un double CD, célébrant de manière imaginaire les multiples aspects du travail de Pier Paolo Pasolini. Poète, écrivain, cinéaste, journaliste, acteur et activiste en politique, Pasolini (1922-1975) était selon les termes de Susan Sontag - « indiscutablement la personnalité la plus remarquable ayant émergé dans le domaine des arts et des lettres italiens depuis la seconde guerre mondiale ». L'hommage que lui rend Battaglia, en forme de portrait sonore, veut faire écho à la vie et aux oeuvres diverses de Pasolini, à sa vulnérabilité et à ses passions, à son engagement politique et à son art. Pour Bataglia, Pasolini représente « la survie de la poésie », un écrivain dont la voix authentique a trouvé à s'exprimer dans les domaines les plus divers.
