Davy Mooney est né et a grandi à New Orleans, et réside actuellement à Brooklyn, New York.Il a démarré sa carrière solo en 2002 et a depuis enregistré 7 albums dont un « Live » (le dernier en date paru en 2020 et compilant les meilleurs enregistrements de ses 6 albums studios).
Il a aussi accompagné de grands noms du Jazz tels que John Pizzarelli, Herbie Hancock, Chaka Khan, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Terri Lyne Carrington, Bill Frisell, Pat Martino, Nicholas Payton, Jeremy Pelt et les frères Brecker, Michaël et Randy !
Ce nouvel album studio rend hommage à la musique Brésilienne et ses rythmes jazz/latin jazz. Il est d'ailleurs accompagné par 4 musiciens Brésiliens.
