Rich Perry a démarré sa carrière solo en 1993 et a depuis enregistré plus de 20 albums en qualité de leader. Tous sur le label SteepleChase. Ce nouvel album est son 25ème album déjà ! Mais il a aussi joué en qualité de « sideman » avec Paul Bley, Fred Hersch, Ron Mc Clure, Lee Konitz ou Joe Henderson. Avant de lancer sa carrière solo, il avait joué dans des orchestres avec Thad Jones et Mel Lewis mais aussi Chet Baker, Machito, Eddie Gomez ou bien encore Tom Harrell.
