Off the Charts propose une liste inspirée de titres peu connus de Wayne Shorter, Bobby Hutcherson, Charles Lloyd, Chick Corea... et les ramène sous un éclairage bien mérité. Pour plonger dans le passé, il faut une distribution en phase avec le présent, et Richard Baratta a réuni une équipe incroyable. Le pianiste David Kikoski apporte sa propre énergie cinétique, le bassiste John Patitucci sert de colonne vertébrale au groupe, le saxophoniste ténor Jerry Bergonzi met en avant sa signature sonore et le percussionniste Paul Rossman s'avère être un coloriste et un collaborateur rythmique plein de verve.
