Résumé
Après « Choose Loose » (2022), « Mocambo Affair » est le deuxième album que Dominik Raab a enregistré avec Tony Lakatos, Billy Test et Doug Weiss. Il est composé exclusivement de titres propres à Raab. Avec une sécurité métronomique, Lakatos, Test, Weiss et Raab se complètent pour former une équipe virtuose qui permet aux visions de Raab de briller. « Mocambo Affair » est un travail d'une seule pièce et offre un pur plaisir d'écoute. Riche en ambiances, couleurs et rythmes, l'album a été enregistré et mixé par Clemens Orth aux Studios de la Südstadt de Cologne, dont l'intimité spatiale contribue également à un plaisir d'écoute maximal. Un jazz merveilleux, tiré avec amour de la tradition du swing et du bebop, mais en même temps moderne, frais et résolument contemporain.
