Résumé
Jean-Marie Machado et Dave Liebman jouent ensemble depuis 2003. De cette complicité sont nés deux albums : "Caminando" (2008, Pao Records) et "Eternal Moments" (2010, Bee Jazz). En 2011, Jean-Marie Machado propose à Dave Liebman d'inviter le bugliste allemand Claus Stötter et le quatuor à cordes Psophos ; de cette rencontre est né le projet "Media Luz". Un moment musical exceptionnel pour un dialogue entre un superbe compositeur européen et un grand soliste américain qui nous dessine un jazz de chambre d'aujourd'hui. "Entre l'ombre et la lumière, la tête dans les étoiles et les pieds solidement ancrés dans la terre, Jean-Marie Machado et Dave Liebman savent manier le feu et la glace, équilibrer l'élan improvisé et la pensée de l'écriture, convoquer l'histoire et les traditions tout en défrichant de nouveaux territoires. Le répertoire qu'ils ont conçu pour ce septette à l'instrumentation inhabituelle sait aussi jouer des contrastes entre les suites habilement agencées et les pièces d'atmosphère."
