Résumé
« Mangassiko » est le titre de mon nouvel album. C'est la forme contractée de mon nom Manga et d'un rythme traditionnel binaire de mon pays appelé Assiko. C'est donc ce jeu de mots qui donne : « Mangassiko ».Pour la réalisation de cet album, je me suis entouré des musiciens venant des 4 coins du monde. Sur le titre Seven j'ai invité une chanteuse américaine que j'aime beaucoup : Denise King. Il m'arrive de temps en temps de reprendre un standard binaire en ternaire comme je l'ai fait dans un de mes albums précédents sur le titre TEEN TOWN de JACO PASTORIUS. Dans cet album, je vous propose une autre reprise mais cette fois-ci avec une composition d'une autre légende du jazz : monsieur HERBIE HANCOCK intitulé ACTUAL PROOF. C'est un titre que j'affectionne particulièrement et que j'ai arrangé à ma façon avec un peu d'épices africaines mélangées avec le jazz.
