Plus de dix années après s'en être allée, Nina Simone reste une grande source d'inspiration pour les nouvelles générations de musiciens, ainsi que l'une des chanteuses de jazz favorites du grand public, comme en atteste sa présence régulière dans les meilleures ventes jazz en France. Disconforme a réalisé un luxueux digipak 5 volets avec livret détaillé de 16 pages contenant 58 titres essentiels couvrant l'âge d'or de la diva. On la retrouve, chantant et s'accompagnant au piano, avec le bassiste Jimmy Bond à la contrebasse et Albert "Tootie" Heath à la batterie (CD1), puis avec les big bands de Bob Mersey et Ralph Burns (CD2), et enfin en concert avec des performances historiques des années 60 captées au Village Gate et aux Newport Jazz Festival avec son groupe régulier (CD3).
