A à la sortie de ce disque en 1978 et suite à une activité intense s'étalant sur plus de douze années, l'orchestre de ces deux excellents musiciens - THAD JONES et MEL LEWIS étaient issus des big bands de COUNT BASIE et de STAN KENTON - avait acquis le statut de véritable institution aux Etats-Unis. Ici, l'actrice suédoise MONICA ZETTERLUND (également entendue avec BILL EVANS en 1964) relève d'une voix sensuelle et très expressive des arrangements délicieux. Et fait sensation aussi bien sur Long Daddy Green et He Was Too Good To Me de BLOSSOM DEARIE que sur The Groove Merchant de JEROME RICHARDSON. Fort en swing.
