Rudolf Buchbinder s'impose comme le plus illustre vétéran des pianistes autrichiens d'aujourd'hui. En France, l'accueil réservé par la presse musicale à son intégrale des Sonates de Beethoven en 2012 (coffret 9 CD RCA, Choc de l'année de Classica), a été unanime et d'un enthousiasme hors du commun. Cette seconde intégrale Beethoven devrait permettre au public français de réaliser à quel point Buchbinder est un pianiste de très haute école, de ceux qui vous révèlent doucement les plus grands secrets : il n'impose rien à Beethoven, il le suit. C'est sompteux !
