On retrouve la Diva, bouleversante, dans Great Scott le nouvel opéra événement du compositeur américain Jake Heggie sur un livret du célèbre dramaturge Terence McNally, créé à Dallas en octobre 2015.
Dans cette première mondiale au disque, Joyce DiDonato tient le rôle d'une diva qui revient dans sa ville natale sauver la compagnie d'opéra à l'origine de sa carrière.
Le reste de la distribution est toute aussi exceptionnelle : Frederica van Stade, Ailyn Pérez, Nathan Gunn, Anthony Roth Costanzo. L'orchestre et le chœur de l'opéra de Dallas sont placés sous la direction de Patrick Summers.
