Because of the virtual world's influence, people are eager for objects they can touch, objects with an apparent maker and a clear story. Innovative technologies, such as 3D printing and waterjet and laser cutting, are making craftwork profitable for manufacturers, stimulating designers' creativity and creating affordable products for consumers.
