Le contre-ténor Max Emanuel Cencic s'attaque au célèbre opéra 'Ottone' de Haendel dans un nouvel enregistrement sous la direction de George Petrou avec l'orchestre Il Pomo d'Oro.

Créé à Londres en 1723, l'oeuvre connut un grand succès tout au long de la vie du compositeur, considérée comme l'un de ses plus grands opéras. Cet enregistrement donne un nouveau souffle à ce chef-d'oeuvre, grâce à un casting de qualité : Ann Hallenberg (mezzo-soprano), Lauren Snouffer (soprano), Pavel Kudinov (basse), Xavier Sabata (contre-ténor) et Anna Starushkevych (contralto). En supplément figurent trois airs de la version révisée en 1726 : Cervo altier, Io sperai trovar riposo et Un disprezza affetto.
