Le violoniste allemand Niklas Liepe revient pour un nouvel album en compagnie du compositeur Andreas N. Tarkmann afin d'offrir une toute nouvelle version des Variations Goldberg de Bach. Ainsi, 13 des illustres Variations Goldberg ont été réarrangé pour violon et cordes par Andreas Tarkmann, conférant à cette oeuvre une toute nouvelle couleur. D'autres compositeurs contemporains renommés comme Moritz Eggert, Sidney Corbett, Wolf Kerschek ou Rolf Rudin ont également collaboré à ce double album en proposant sur de nouvelles variations s'inspirant des originales.
