C'est après l'avoir beaucoup donné en concert en Europe qu'Alan Curtis enregistre cette nouvelle version. Karina Gauvin, désormais acclamée au plus haut niveau du répertoire baroque, Ann Hallenberg qu'on ne présente plus, et le jeune ténor Anicio Zorzi Giustiniani qui chante le rôle titre, contribuent à faire de cet enregistrement une découverte importante.
