Aujourd'hui, le double album digipack de Nine Inch Nails est disponible : pas moins de 36 titres instrumentaux, soit presque deux heures de musique. Quelques titres du nouvel album, « Ghosts I-IV » ont été proposés gratuitement au public sur internet à l'image du dernier Radiohead, suite à l'engouement général la version physique a suivi. Cet album a été composé sur une période intensive de dix semaines à l'automne dernier. « Ghosts I-IV » a été conçu de manière visuelle en imaginant des lieux, des scenarios... Reznor le décrit comme «A soundtrack for daydreams».Trent Reznor a été entouré de ATTICUS ROSS (Korn, Pink), ALAN MOULDER (Depeche Mode, U2, Marilyn Manson...), ALESSANDRO CORTINI (clavier de NIN), BRIAN VIGLIONE (le batteur des Dresden Dolls) et ANDRIAN BELEW (guitariste, King Crimson Franck Zappa, David Bowie...). Ce n'est que le début d'une saga, car ce projet aura très certainement une suite...
