Anthrax est un groupe de thrash metal américain, originaire de New York. Fondé par les guitaristes Scott Ian et Danny Lilker, le groupe recense, en date de 2016, onze albums studio, vingt singles, et un EP avec Public Enemy. Le groupe est l'un des plus populaires groupes de la scène thrash des années 1980. À l'émergence majeure du genre au milieu et à la fin des années 1980, Anthrax est surnommé l'un des « Big Four of thrash » aux côtés de Metallica, Megadeth et Slayer. Ils sont également l'un des premiers groupes du genre à signer avec une major, Island Records en 1985. En 2015, Anthrax recense plus de 15 millions d'albums vendus à travers le monde.
