Beaucoup de fans de musique d'aujourd'hui pourrait ne connaître Allen Toussaint que pour son travail avec Elvis Costello en 2006 sur l'album «River In Reverse» mais bien sûr, sa carrière remonte à plus de 50 ans en arrière et comprend une multitude d'albums à succès comme compositeur, arrangeur, producteur et interprète.
Ce double CD Collector couvre 20 années de sa remarquable carrière, en commençant par ses premières apparitions comme pianiste de studio, ses enregistrements solo en 1958 sous le nom de Al Tousan et se termine dans les années 70 avec ses chansons intemporelles et des productions pour des artistes comme Lee Dorsey et The Meters.
