Résumé
Ce disque est en quelque sorte un portrait de Jorg Widman, né à Munich en 1973, unanimement reconnu à la fois comme compositeur doué d'une grande originalité et comme clarinettiste aux multiples talents. On y trouve deux de ses oeuvres d'envergure: Messe, composée en 2006 pour grand orchestre, et Elegie, composée en 2005 pour clarinette et orchestre ; intercalées entre les deux, Funf Bruckstücke datant de 1997, fascinantes miniatures où le clarinettiste Widmann converse avec virtuosité avec Heinz Holliger qui fait là ses débuts sur le label en tant que pianiste.
Les Fünf Bruchstücke figurent parmi les premières oeuvres que Widmann a publiées. Couronné de prix, Widmann compose des oeuvres qui se caractérisent par leur grande force expressive, leur authenticité et leur intensité.
