Résumé
C'est lors de sa rencontre avec le violoniste virtuose Rares Morarescu, que vit le jour : Mellis fait son Jazz puis Mellis & The Swing Lovers. Ce disque dédié au swing compte onze titres, dont 'Chewi' et 'Etre Un Homme Comme Vous'.Sous l'influence de Norah Jones, Lisa Ekdahl et Diana Krall, Mellis débuta l'aventure du jazz en compagnie de deux guitaristes manouche. Leur répertoire se façonna en un swing teinté de couleurs tziganes et glamour des années 50, pour évoluer vers d'autres horizons : Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald, Anita O'Day, Peggy Lee, Rita Hayworth, Leo Marjane... Petit à petit, Mellis grandit sous les conseils avisés des chanteuses Denise King, Mônica Passos, Nadia Bruel et Jeanne Added.
