Pour l'album, Lauper est en duo avec des invites spéciaux de la noblesse de la country: Emmylou Harris (sur le titre éponyme), Willie Nelson (« Night Life », une chanson qu'il a écrite il y a plus de 50 ans), Vince Gill (« You're The Reason Our Kids Are Ugly » de Loretta Lynn et Conway Twitty) et Alisson Kraus (« Hard Candy Christmas » de Dolly Parton).
