Résumé
Brahms a probablement entendu la plupart de ces airs lorsqu'il était enfant à Hambourg, joués par les orchestres tsiganes, célèbres pour leurs airs de danse « hongrois ». Ces mélodies passionnées et entraînantes fascinent par leurs brusques changements d'humeur, leurs rêveries fantaisistes et leurs ornements extravagants. Brahms en a peut-être même écrit quelques-unes lui-même ! Mais sa main est évidente dans les harmonies luxuriantes et la profondeur émotionnelle. Cette version pour violon et piano a été arrangée par Joseph Joachim, ami de Brahms, le plus grand violoniste de sa génération. Les danses sont brillamment interprétées par la violoniste Sabrina-Vivian Hopcker, qui capture parfaitement l'exubérance sauvage et la profonde tristesse de ces mélodies envoûtantes. Fabio Bidini est le collaborateur idéal, et ensemble, ils ont produit un album d'une beauté et d'un charme rares.
