Ce nouvel album d'Usher marque la réunion créative d'Usher et de L.A. Reid, qui n'ont pas travaillé ensemble depuis l'album de diamant « Confessions » sorti en 2004. L'album a été principalement enregistré à Atlanta, en Géorgie, avec de nombreux producteurs parmi les plus en vue d'Atlanta, dont Sean Garrett, Lil John, The Avila Brothers, Mel & Mus, Tricky Stewart, Rico Love, The-Dream, Jermaine Dupri, D Mile et bien d'autres encore. Summer Walker, 21 Savage et Latto ont également participé à cet album. Avec ses 80 millions d'albums vendus, Usher sera la tête d'affiche du spectacle de la mi-temps du prochain Super Bowl (11 février 2024).
