Pour commémorer le 50e anniversaire de sa disparition, le meilleur de Cole Porter (1891-1964) est réuni sur un double CD. Parmi les plus grands auteurs-compositeurs de tous les temps, seul Irving Berlin partageait avec Porter le talent d'écrire ses propres paroles, et quelles paroles d'une sophistication brillante ! Dès la fin des années 20, ses créations ont engendré une succession de succès retentissants, tant au théâtre qu'au cinéma. « Anything Goes! » présente ce qui sont sans doute ses 56 compositions les plus illustres sur deux CD d'une richesse exceptionnelle. La liste des artistes est phénoménale, la plupart ayant été choisis parmi des enregistrements contemporains de la première apparition de chaque chanson. Cole Porter lui-même chante et joue du piano sur « Anything Goes » et « You're The Top », extraits de la comédie musicale à succès « Anything Goes » (qui a également révélé Ethel Merman au grand public avec son tube « I Get A Kick Out Of You »).
