Résumé
Decca marque le soixantième anniversaire du premier enregistrement mondial du War Requiem de Britten enregistré en 1963 à Londres. Réalisé sous la direction du compositeur et avec les trois solistes pour lesquels l'oeuvre a été écrite (Galina Vishnevskaya, Peter Pears, Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau), l'enregistrement reste encore aujourd'hui la référence par excellence.En 2023, Decca a effectué de nouveaux transferts haute résolution 24 bits/192 kHz des bandes originales quart de pouce dans les studios British Grove, et présente. Ils offrent toutefois une résolution numérique bien plus élevée qu'un CD audio ordinaire. Au sein de cette édition, on y retrouve également : - un livre accompagnant l'album, richement documenté, comprend des extraits de l'autobiographie de John Culshaw "Putting the Record Straight", - des souvenirs de trois membres de l'équipe d'enregistrement originale de Decca en 1963, - des notes techniques, - des essais détaillés sur le War Requiem - des sessions d'enregistrement,- des photographies rares inédites.Une édition deluxe de 2 SACD hybrides qui peuvent être lus sur n'importe quel lecteur de CD Remastered 2023
