Un an auparavant, Philips nous avait présenté la première série de Double CD d'une anthologie de la carrière discographique exceptionnelle de Jessye Norman, carrière qui s'échelonne sur 35 années.Quatre nouveaux albums viennent compléter ce tour d'horizon du répertoire de la cantatrice. De tous les répertoires, devraiton dire, tant l'étendue est vaste, et tant elle y excelle à tout coup : la mélodie française, le lied germanique, chants sacrés et Spirituals ou opéra. Wagner est ici à la fête, Schumann (ses premiers enregistrements, déjà sublimes), Brahms, Debussy, Cole Porter, Jerome Kern ou Hugo Wolf !
