Membre du trio de Georges Paczynski avec Marc Buronfosse, leader du quintet de jazz Kaimaki, le pianiste Stéphane Tsapis a aussi composé la musique d'une dizaine de films ; son lien avec le cinéma, mais aussi son parcours - Grec, né en Suisse, vivant en France - peuvent expliquer l'attrait et le talent qu'il a pour raconter de belles histoires : celle de Charlie Chaplin et Edna Purviance ("Charlie et Edna", album qui lui a valu les honneurs de la presse), celle qui retrace le voyage des émigrés grecs fuyant la guerre civile ("Mataora")...
