Après une quinzaine d'années de carrière, neuf albums et une liste interminable de collaborations (YANN TIERSEN ou CHARLOTTE GAINSBOURG pour ne citer qu'eux), on aurait pu s'attendre à voir THE DIVINE COMEDY s'abîmer lentement comme cela arrive trop fréquemment avec les artistes qui marquent leur époque. Mais cela aurait été sous-estimer le talent et la forme de NEIL HANNON ! Exit le cricket (Dukworth Lewis Method), les explorations instrumentales (Absent Friends) THE DIVINE COMEDY est bel est bien de retour dans cet état d'esprit qui nous avait tant séduit à ses débuts. Des orchestrations impeccables, aux mélodies pop inoubliables en passant par les textes léchés qui dépeignent notre société dans ce qu'elle a de plus savoureux (pour le meilleur comme pour le pire), tout y est.
