Simon Oslender a dû penser à ce dicton lorsqu'il a dit au revoir à Steve Gadd après trois jours inoubliables en studio avec le légendaire batteur ainsi qu'Eddie Gomez, Ronnie Cuber et le WDR Big Band au début de 2022,enregistrant l'album nominé aux Grammy CENTER STAGE (DELTAN 77107). On se croise toujours deux fois dans la vie - le pianiste, claviériste et organiste l'espérait aussi en 2021 lorsqu'il a enregistré son deuxième album solo avec une autre légende, le bassiste Will Lee (PEACE OF MIND, Leopard DELTAN 77110). Deux géants américains de la scène studio - des innovateurs musicaux qui ont tous deux accompagné les grands du R&B, pop, soul, funk, blues et jazz sur d'innombrables disques - et si souvent côte à côte, et complices.ALL THAT MATTERS offre tout ce qui est musicalement le plus important pour Oslender - et reprend sesracines R&B, blues, soul, gospel et funk.
