Délires et sérénité focuses especially on the extraordinary case of a young woman, Louise de Bellère du Tronchay, who, in the 17th century, prayed for the grace of madness in order to bear witness to her love for God. This presents an exemplary challenge to differentiate and distinguish what results from paranoia -pathological madness- from what would be metanoia - a radical and total conversion of the self to the Other. With the story of Louise du Néant, we focus on the `subject' the `status of the subject' and its possible metamorphosis. This spiritual reading of the remarkable life of `Louise la Folle', who bore the stigmata of madness and saintliness, aims to pay homage to all men and women who, suffering from mental illness, experience a spiritual élan towards the God of hope.
