Considéré comme l’un des meilleurs pianistes de sa génération, et après 20 ans d’une carrière couronnée par de nombreux prix (Echo Jazz Award, Prix Django Reinhardt, Grand Prix au Concours International de Piano Martial Solal…) et jalonnée de prestigieuses collaborations (Melody Gardot, Brad Mehldau, Jeanne Added, Natalie Dessay, Ibrahim Maalouf, Miossec, Camélia Jordana, Archie Shepp…), Baptiste Trotignon revient avec son nouvel album, « le plus personnel » à ses yeux, et le troisième chez Sony Music : ‘You’ve Changed’.
A juste titre, ‘You’ve Changed’ se révèle être un album extrêmement abouti et en tous points réussi. Les compositions originales virtuoses, véritables « improvisations totales, sans préméditation » sur lesquelles Baptiste laisse libre court à son imagination (Milonga, Speed et Epilogue), se mélangent parfaitement à des reprises brillantes de standards cultes (I’m a Fool to Want You de Frank Sinatra et Billie Holiday, Sugar Man de Sixto Rodriguez, Here, There and Everywhere des Beatles).
Outre la grande qualité du répertoire, l’album se dévoile également à travers une incroyable série de duos intimes et un casting cinq étoiles d’invités prestigieux : Ibrahim Maalouf, Camélia Jordana, Thomas de Pourquery, Joe Lovano, Vincent Segal et le trompettiste Avishai Cohen.
