Le titre de cet album, Crystal Palace, évoque le refuge vitré que Victor Hugo avait installé au sommet de sa maison de Guernesey. L’Orchestre Victor Hugo, basé à Besançon, porte le nom de l’illustre écrivain né dans cette ville, qui avait dû quitter la France après le coup d’état de Louis Napoléon Bonaparte, en 1851. L’opposition farouche d’Hugo à celui qui allait devenir Napoléon III l’avait obligé à l’exil.
